52 Card 2014 UK Scrappers - Weeks 21 and 22

I've managed to make two cards lately, and catch up a little bit on the UK Scrappers 52 Card Challenge 2014.

We've had quite a bit of sickness hit this house, so I have been very blessed to find very good friends here in Chinchilla who I can rely on and ask favours of - this means a lot - especially in relation to your children!

So I decided to make two cards with similar elements, but variations on a theme ....

Week 21 - side vertical greeting

I am not a fan of side greetings - so I changed it to have side elements, and run my word bubbles down on the vertical.  The very light green didn't photograph well, but it did work well on the card.  There was a background of light pink vellum which doesn't show too well here, but it does add another texture and visual layer.

Week 22 - 50 shades of green

Different greens were added in the light green ink, small green pearl stars, the star buttons and the green Bazzill Just the Edge strip.  I normally wouldn't add a lime green with a jade green, but the addition of the lace and the pink edging made it work.

The base noughts and crosses paper was actually some stationery that my Mum bequeathed to me a long, long time ago - I think that is the last sheets of it and that I have managed to use it up!

Supplies:
Stationery notecard
Pink vellum
Bazzill Lime Green Just the Edge Strip
Heidi Swapp pink adhesive tape
Green Star buttons, pearl star embellishments
Star punch
Stardust Stickles
Doodlebug Paper Posies, Pink Glitter
Lace
Light Green Chalk ink
Martha Stewart punch
Pink daisy felt ribbon
Close to My Heart Balloon Talk stamps

The cards were quite different form my usual style because of the different types of greeting, but I quite liked them - even more importantly, the recipients liked them too!

I've definitely made more than 30 cards now in my journey to buying new stash, but as the budget has been blown out of the water since starting as a Close to My Heart Consultant, it feels a bit of a con to continue - but the counting of how much craft you've done is fun, I guess!  Officially, cards 19 and 20 I think ...

  7. You've made a lovely job of both cards. Green is not a colour I turn to much, except as an accent. Hope you're all up to full strength very soon x
